1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, "If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me." What do you think she means by that?
She means that Edward to her is not some monster to be feared, he has worked do hard to redeem himself, and preserve life that, I think in her heart Bella knows that if he died he would go to heaven. To her he is an angel, he has saved her on numerous occasions. But mostly I believe because she loves him so completely that she would never for a second believe he could go anywhere else.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, "What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?" Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?
Probably that of Bella jumping off a cliff and Harry Clearwater's heart attack happening in the same day. It was a huge coincidence that Alice saw Bella's jump, but not her rescue, Rose called Edward, and Harry passed away all in the same space of time. I think that would be against the odds, so I don;t think it was completely unjustified that Edward acted the way he did.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?
I think it could be a close fight but there would be some significant losses and I don't think Bella could live with that, she would be completely guilt ridden.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
she knows how stubborn and over protective Edward is and i think she's trying to make a point I think she wants to show him how committed she is to this and that she values the opinions of everyone of them, including him. I also think that she doesn't want to put them in danger on her behalf.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that? I think it's because she thinks of Edward as so, so perfect, she knows that if she goes to heaven, Edward has to be with her.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then? i think he's thinking about how he already believed Bella was dead, because Alice saw her jump, and when Jacob says Charlie's at 'the funeral' Edward just assumes it's Bella's. When he realizes he was talking about Harry's, he's thinking about how in Romeo and Juliet the odds are always against them.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them? Possibly. I'm not sure. I don't think it's the best plan (like Bella) and I think that seeing how large the Volturi is, they wouldn't have much of a chance. Especially since Marcus (I think it was Marcus) sees relationship's and was surprised at how intense there's was, he would know that Bella had to be with Edward.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house? I think she's fed up with the fact that Edward keeps refusing to make her immortal.

1. well, how could it be hell? when she is with edward, she is happy i hell, you are supposed to suffer. how can you suffer with the most beautful and loving boyfriend right next to you?

2. i think he is thinking that if he had waited onger, it might have actually been her funeral.

3. probably not, mostly because of jane.

4. well, if it was edward's decision alone, she would never bacome a vampire and the cullen family would get killed when the volturi come. i think edward knew that everyone except rosalie would vote in bella's favor.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?
basically, any where Edward is can't be hell considering he's her personal heaven sent angel.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?
he's thinking it must have been Bella's funeral since he had already been told about Bella jumping so what else was he supposed to think? i would have thought the same if i was him.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?
that i'm not so sure of. the Cullens are powerful but the Volturi have the advantage of not only number but other powers that seem truly more terrifying (Jane anyone?). i would hope and pray they'd be ok, but i don't the odds would be in their favor.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
i think she wants to show Edward that his family is also in danger while he is and that the rest of the Cullens want her to beocme a vampire because it's just easier. i think she's trying to see if one of the Cullens could persuade him in his thinking. Edward is probably worried that Bella's plan will work and his family will vote against him.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, "If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me with me." What do you think she means by that?
She means that if she were really in hell she wouldn't be allowed to have Edward there with her. and that the absence of Edward is her definition of hell. (it felt blasphemous to type that)

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, "What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?" Edward contemplates "the odds" what do you think he is thinking about then?
He means that the odds seem to be stacked against them (he and Bella) as a couple. First he was born 85ish years before she was, and would have, in a magic/monster free world, likely died well before she was born, or if he by some chance survived 'the great war' he would have been an old man.
Second her blood is the best smelling stuff ever, his brand of the most addictive drug ever known. that he didn't kill her that first day is something wondrous all by its self.
and third, shes a danger magnet, every time he turns around (and hes a vampire, so thats pretty damn fast) shes in danger again

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?
nope, there are too many Volturi, some of them (the Cullen's) might survive, but not all of them, and Demetri isn't the only way to find Bella anyways. She smells really freaking good, even to other vampires. they would just track her scent. And even if she did survive such a search and attack do you really think she would ever forgive herself if Alice, Jasper, Esme, Carlisle, Rosalie, Emmett, or most of all Edward died trying to protect her foolishly (in her mind) still human self?

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
It's not just about she and Edward anymore, the rest of the family has a right to say how much danger They are willing to live with. Also, she just Spent about 6 months with a giant gaping hole in her chest where her heart and lungs should be, if I were her I wouldn't be willing to just give up my best chance to never have to go through that again without a fight. not to mention that Edward just told her again that he would rather die then live without her. and when you love someone you dont want them to die just because you do, you want them to live and love for as long as possible, if Edward wont live without her, then she has to stay with him, and if the only way to do that is to get Alice or Carlisle to make her a vampire then so be it.
My bet is that Edward is thinking that Carlisle would not agree to change a perfectly healthy human, and that Alice won't change Bella without permission, so even if the vote goes Bella's way it won't matter. He was right too, if Carlisle hadn't agreed that changing Bella was the most logical course the others would have followed his lead, when combined with Edwards wishes. That theory would also explain why Edward didn't so much as bat an eye at Alice's, Emmett's, Jasper's and Esme's votes, they didn't hold as much weight.

and completely outside of the questions posed, I found this scene more heartbreaking then chapter 3. That was hard, reading about her pain was hard, but I never really believed that he didn't love her, so it was bearable, also knowing that there was a third book already out and forth book in the works pretty much screamed that he was coming back.
But this, Bella's unwillingness born of fear to accept that he could possibly love her, and want to stay with her, made me cry like a baby. and just as terrible was Edwards pain over Bella's belief of his lies. This chapter was actually the hardest to read for me.

because Edward is an angel to Bella so if she was dead and in hell he couldn't be there because angels aren't supposed to be in hell.
that everything is against their relationship the chances that he's taken with her could have killed her so why couldn't she died now that he wasn't there?

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?

A: Hell to her is any place without Edward, even if it were a wonderful place besides that.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?

A: How you can't live your live based on odds. You can't let life control you. You take control and do the best you can with it.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?

A: Not with out more help.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?

A: She's protective of those she cares for and she can't stand the idea of being the reason for their suffering or deaths. He's terrified and angry.

I think that Bella means that if Edward is not with her then life is like Hell to her.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?
Honestly i dont know.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?
I think they would lose but they would do a little damage.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
I think that Bella came to the decision when Edward once again insisted on being human. Its sort of like she is trying to protect they (future) family she loves. I think Edward was a little upset but he wouldnt show it.
Jennifer is a true Cullenist! I Love Edward and Jacob!!! But I love Edward more! I also love Ian! LOL :D
