1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that? Bella dose not see edward as the monster he thinks he is she expects edward to go to heaven because he's her angel.
2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?
I think he was reflecting on how the "odds" always seem to be against them; no matter how hard he trys or what measures he takes bella will always be a danger magnet.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?
Edwards plan has some flaws. flaw number 1 is if they dont move bella fast enough the volturi can always follow her scent. flaw number 2 if aro came himself then all he'd have to do is touch whoever hid bella and they'd know where she was and if anyone hid with her they could just track that person. the volturi are smart and powerful i dont think edward wants to admite he has no other choice but to turn bella. the whole thing is just a game of chance.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
Bella comes to this decision base on the fact that her staying mortal dose not just effect her anymore it can put the entire cullan family in danger now. When edward hears why she want to go to his house im sure he realises what his family will say becuase deep down thats whats right but he is dead set on bella staying mortal and dosent want to admit he is wrong, his pride is getting the better of him.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

[quote="Alphie"]These questions were provided by Be My Escape.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?

She meant that there was no way that Edward would go to Hell, because he has a soul, a good soul.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?

Edward was probably thinking about what the odds were that the funeral Jacob was speaking of was Bella's.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?

The Volturi, maybe. But not the Volturi with AND their guards. At least not the Cullens alone.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?

Bella puts her mortality to a vote, because when/if she changes, she will become a part of their family, and they'll be united. Also, Bella doesn't want Edward to be able to decide for her. If she puts it up for a vote, she'll get a more mixed, fair reaction. Edward already knew how his family felt about Bella changing, because of course he can read their minds.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?

I had to edit my message when I read what iheartedcullen wrote as an answer to #1. RIGHT ON! I was trying to think of what I wanted to say but couldn't find the words...you said it perfectly!!

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?

What are the odds that there would be a funeral going on at the same time Edward calls to find out if Bella is dead, and that Jacob would answer the phone (instead of Bella), and that Jacob would say "he's at the funeral" instead of "he's at Harry's funeral". What are the odds of all three happening? If any one of those things happened just a bit differently, Edward may have found out that Bella was alive.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?

Not really sure about this one.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?

Bella remaining human and with Edward would have an impact on the rest of the Cullens. Because they will be affected, Bella feels they should have a say in the decision (since Edward will not budge on his feelings about it). Edward is furious, I am sure, not only because he is adamant about her staying human, but perhaps also because he knows she has a point about why she is involving the rest of the Cullens.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?

Hell is being away from Edward. Heaven is being with him.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?

What were the odds that he thought Bella was dead and called to hear about a funeral that wasn't Bella's. He's right, that is awkward.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?

Yes. Mostly because they'll be prepared because of Alice.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?

I think she came to this decision becausee she wanted to show Edward that it wasn't just about him, and how much it affected the whole family. I think Edward was probably just feeling helpless about the fact that she was so ready to be undead - and because he already knows what the rest of the Cullens think on the issue, so he is immediately frustrated.

Thanks BME! :)

Also, fun fact for you all, this is my second favorite chapter or the entire series (the first being Ch 20 of Eclipse). Much love for this chapter. :D

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?
She means, as we all know (err...most of us, anyway) that Edward Cullen most definitely does not belong in hell, and therefore it would be impossible for her to be there when she's with him.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?
The odds that such a mix up should occur. Jacob could have easily said "he's at Harry's funeral" or something else that would have cleared it up, not that it's Jake's fault, just that it was extremely bad luck (which happens in fiction). Also quite coincidental that Bella and Edward's lives happen to parallel whatever book they're been reading or talking about at the moment. :P

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?
Depends on who all is there. I think the Cullens would definitely give them a run for their money. They're very tough. But if ALL of the Volturi and guard were there... I don't know. :?

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
She realizes Edward would never decide to change her on his own, he's much too stubborn and selfless, so she's taking matters into her own hands (good for her)! I think he was probably very apprehensive about it, knowing his family could end up having a say in what he has such a strong opinion.

1. Bella has always thought of Edward as her Angle. and if she was in Hell Edward wouldn't be there in her perspective. Edward might see himself as a monster but Bella sees him as the opposite.

2. I think Edward is thinking of the odds of a Funeral going on at the same Time Edward was thinking Bella is Dead - What are the Odds that Henry Clearwater would die on the same day Alice saw Bella Jump?

3. Honestly; No. While Jane has the ability to Torture people with their minds.. We still don't know Alec's "gift" we know it's more potent than Jane's. Which makes you think ...What if Alec can kill with his mind? How Jasper can Actually Ease the mind.. Alec can kill... so it's a physical gift not a mental like the rest of them.

4. This is a question i had myself. I think, Bella is sick of it always being JUST Edwards decision - It's not only him she'll be joining, it is Esme, Carlisle, Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, Emmet and Edward. It will even it up and Make it 8 instead of 7. I think she made a good choice to put it to a vote.. Jasper would probably say yes because then she'll be the weaker one.. but faints around blood so this might not be true i think she'll get over it quick. Emmet finds Bella to be funny and they get a long great. Alice is Bella's best friend so of course she wants her to join (plus she can see how Bella is going to be) Carlisle and Esme adore Bella and are just glad to see Edward happy- No matter what They'll love her. I think they think it will just be Easier and Safer. Rosalie and Edward are the only two who said no. Rosalie for reasons you find in Eclipse and Edward says no because he doesn't want to take Bella's "soul" away. And she disagrees. I think Edward is very annoyed and angry because Bella is going above his head - it's more her decision than his anyways. They love each other more than anything in this world, but He's scared she's making the wrong choice. I think Edward was More Angry because he knew how they all Felt "there are no secrets in the family"

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that? Her idea of Heaven is to be with Edward. Hell is only a place where Edward isn't.

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then? He's most likely chastizing himself for running off to Italy without checking into it deeper. He is so focused on Bella, he quickly assumed the funeral was for her. It didn't even occur to him that Charlie is a policeman and may be at the funeral of anyone in Forks. Someone who died in a motorcycle accident on those wet, slick roads maybe? (Not Jacob!)

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them? Not without some serious planning. Jane could render them all helpless without lifting a finger.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?
There are "only four options" which are woven into the fabric of the books. They get spelled out in so many words during Edward and Jacob's infamous night in the tent. But Bella figures them out first in the way that she does when she goes inside her head. Once she had it figured out, she acted.

1) I think she means that if Edward was in Hell and she was there, it would be Heaven.

2) I think he was thinking of all the times that because of him, Bella. For example, in Twilight, when the Cullens are playing baseball, James' coven comes and James wants to kill Bella, Edward thinks that that was his fault.

3) No, the Cullens wouldn't have a chance against the whole Volturi guard, but if only a few came...They would have much better chances.

4) Bella realizes that Edward was never going to change his mind, as much as he likes the idea of Bella being immortal, Edward is much too selfless. Edward was furious, New Moon said as much, he must be seeing that she is right to involve the family, even if he dislikes the idea.

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that?

Well obviously Bella hates a life without Edward. So her personal hell would be forever without him. oô

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then?

Well since Bella is a danger magnet and Charlie is at a funeral. What are the odds that it's someone else's wedding? Especially since she was obviously very hurt and Rosalie had already told him that she was dead.

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them?

I think they would but Bella would feel like that she wasn't worth it like she always does and eventually do something like get someone to change her or go to the Volturis herself.

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house?

I think the whole danger and that the possibility of losing Edward made her come to that decision. Edward was probably torn. He didn't wnat his family to accept Bella as one of theirs but he didn't want her to feel rejected again.
"Oh, come on," I said dubiously. "You have to know the effect you have on people."
He tilted his head to one side, and his eyes were curious. "I dazzle people?"
"You haven't noticed? Do you think everybody gets their way so easily?"
He ignored my questions.
"Do I dazzle you?"
"Frequently," I admitted.

I figured, what the heck, why not try this out? (:

1. When Bella thinks that she has died she states, 'If I was in hell, you wouldn't be with me.' What do you think she means by that? One of two things came to mind: either she figures that Edward isn't dead therefore he couldn't be there, or that if he was dead he (still) shouldn't be in hell. :?

2. In the part where Edward is telling Bella that he should have been more careful before he went to Italy, he says, 'What was I supposed to think when the boy said Charlie was at the funeral? What are the odds?' Edward contemplates 'the odds' what do you think he is thinking about then? After hearing from Rosalie that Bella 'killed herself,' I think Edward figured that's what Jake meant :o, it must have been Bella's funeral, because how could Edward know about Harry? Maybe he thought he shouldn't have assumed, and should have pressed more info, instead. What are the odds that I just heard about your death, called your home, and heard your father was at "the funeral?" Haha :?

3. Edward has a plan for if and when the Volturi come to check on Bella. Do you think the Cullen's would actually have a chance against them? Possibly, what with Edward's mind reading and Alice's future-seeing. :) But I think it would be a slightly-less-than-even match, considering Jane maybe. :?

4. At the end of the chapter Bella decides to put her mortality to a vote. What do you think made her come to this decision? What is Edward thinking when he hears why she wants to go to his house? I think she might have decided to do that because she wants to know what Edward's family thinks about her becoming immortal (and to know if they want her to, in general), not just what Edward thinks himself. And maybe even to prove Edward wrong...though I'm not so sure about that. I bet Edward's thinking, "Er, what? Wait...crap." Nah, I'm not so sure. :P
