1) I don't know. I think that if she had, it would have caused way more problems then it solved.

2) No! I don't want her with Jacob. She belongs with Edward. I can't say much more, because I don't think I'm supposed to put stuff that has to do with Eclipse in the New Moon discussion.

3) Jacob might be okay with part of her heart for a while, but I don't think he'd still be okay with it when it was plainly obvious (several years down the road) that she wasn't over Edward. (I don't think she could get over Edward if she tried.) Jacob should wait.

4) Friendship is good. She owes Edward her life more times than she owes Jacob. Edward saved her from Tyler's van, from the people in Port Angeles, from the obvious James, and countless other times.

5) Forbidden love and star-crossed lovers. But, like Bella said, Romeo would never leave Juliet, and Juliet would have to be pretty good friends with Paris to even consider that relationship.

6) Hmm...I don't see her relationship with the Cullens as a masochistic one. The Cullens make her happy.

7) Edward and Bella's relationship is healthier. Jacob thinks of himself just as much as he thinks of Bella. Edward would die before Bella could get hurt. (Of course, I'm missing some serious points here, don't kill me. I don't want to bore you with my points when they've probably already been pointed out.) That was really redundant...
Me siento tan normal, tan fragil, tan real. Me ellavas al espacio sideral. Y volar como lo hace Superman.

This chapter broke my heart. I truly believe that Paris deserves his happy ending. When I read Edward's voice "Be Happy" I completely agreed with him. Edward would want Bella to find happiness without him. That's why he left. Jacob is a wonderful caring person who really did save Bella's life twice. and at this point in the game, EDWARD is NOT coming back. She needs to move forward. And once Bella makes a decision she follows through heart and soul. Maybe her heart is broken now, but give it time, patience and a lot of love provided by Jacob and it will grow into something deep and meaningful and complete.

As much as I love Edward, my heart is broken for Jacob. He loves Bella even though she is broken and that is beautiful.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?

ummm.... NO.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?

once again NO.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
Who cares??

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?

I don't know and I don't really care. Bella has to has to has to be with EDWARD.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?

Somewhat, the main difference is that Charlie doesn't hate Carlisle where as in Romeo & Juliet Lord Capulet and Lord Montague were rivals witch was the reason Romeo and Juliet's love was forbidden. This story's scenario is a little bit different.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?

I don't think so.....??? I haven't really thought about it... hmm

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is healthier?

Bella and Jacob have the love/hate thing going a little bit but more on friendship level (until the middle of Eclipse). Bella's relationship with Edward is pretty much AH-dorable!!!! I think Bella i safer with Edward than with Jacob because of the whole temper thing too...

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?

Yes and no, I think she should of talked to him about her depression, but the the hallucinations.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?

NO

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?

Yes he should wait for someone who can love him back.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?

Friendship is great. But she owes Edward her live more than she owes it to Jacob. He saved her from Tyler's van, the werid men in POrt Angeles, from James and Victoria, and buches of other times. So if she owes anyone for saving her life it's Edward not Jacob.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?

Forbidden love and star-crossed lovers...heck yes it's similar. But Romeo would never have left Juliet even if thats what he thought was right. And Romeo would tried to befriend Paris even though the were never ment to be friends [like a vampire and a werewolf].

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?

No I don't think Bella's relationship with the Cullens is masochistic, they make her happy and feel loved.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is healthier?

Edward and Bella's relationship is healthier. Jacob cares for himself just as much as he cares for Bella, but Edward would rather die than have Bella dead or hurt.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
If she would have told him, he would end up "telling" the rest of the wolves and they would have done something about it.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
Its not right. Maybe after awhile but not at that time.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
No, he had to try.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
I don't know. I really don't

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
It basically the same, besides the point that either of them have yet died for each other....

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
I don't think that it is masochistic.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is 'healthier' ?
wow that is a hard one for me. She doesn't have to change for Jacob but i know that Edward and Bella are completely right for each other. They complete each other. but i would probably say Edward and Bella now after reading Eclipse.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
No. I think that would be way to hard for him to handle.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
At this point I was thinking it was still a bit too early. I felt like maybe she should eventually, but I just felt it was not the right time.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
I think he should have continued to try, but also be open to the possibilities of someone else.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
I don't feel that she owes Jacob any type of relationship other than friendship for him saving her. In my opinion a best friend would take care of those roles anyway.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
It is similar because their worlds are so different that their relationship struggles because of it. I think they have more options than Romeo and Juliet did.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
No. She would know Carlisle's car anywhere. I don't think her relationship with the Cullens is masochistic. I think she truly loves them and the only reason it brings her pain is because she can't be part of their family since Edward left.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is 'healthier' ?
Bella and Jacob's relationship is more of a love/hate relationship. Yes he loves her with all his heart, but she only loves him secondary. Bella and Edward have a connection that Bella and Jacob will never have. When you love someone body and soul it is very hard to give that up and move on. I honestly think Bella and Edward have the healthier relationship when he is around.

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?

Bella had to confide in Jacob about Edward and her depression. She was so depressed that she had to tell someone before she imploded. I think she made to right choice not to tell Jacob about her hallucinations. I am not sure if he would've really understood without thinking that she should go to a shrink.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?

I don't believe in settling for anything but if Edward never came back, Bella would've been fine with Jacob. If Edward was never going to come back then it would not have been settling for Bella to be with Jacob because he loves her for who she is. As long as Jacob would've been ok with only having part of her heart (and only if Edward was not coming back) then Bella would not have been settling.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?

I really don't know the answer to this question. Jacob knows that Bella loves him as more than a friend before she does. Bella loves him at this point more than she knows. It would not have been settling for Jacob because he would have been with someone he really loved. He knew about the whole in her chest and the extreme pain she was in and he still wanted her. It would not have been settling.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?

This chapter forces Bella to think about the possibility of Edward never coming back. She knew all along that it was a possibility but I don't think that she seriously thought about it until this moment. At this point she is thinking about how much she owes Jacob for her life and that really weighs heavily on her mind. What would she have done without him? What will she become if she doesn't have Jacob? Because Jacob saved her life in multiple ways it makes her think more heavily about staying with him.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?

They are similar because they love each other passionately and with their whole existences. Also they both have barriers to their unions which must be overcome for a happy ending. They are different becaus Bella has more common sense than Juliet had. She knows that she needs to be there for her family and that they are the most important thing when her love leaves her. Juliet gives up when she finds Romeo dead- Bella keeps going when her love essentially "dies". Edward is also is bit smarter than Romeo. He isn't as fickle and he also makes much better decisions.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?

I think that Bella has a metaphysical connection of sorts with the Cullens. She is so connected to them that when the car and Alice come back, she knows it is a Cullen. Her relationship could be called masochistic because she is willing to hurt herself to be with them but then again she is so much happier when she is with them than she is at any other time.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is healthier?

Bella's realtionship with Jacob is much more free and reckless with Jacob. He is a friend to begin with so Bella feels more free to "party" with him. He is also more like her than I think Edward is so that makes her relationship with Jacob more of one where the two people are completely equal. Bella's realtionship with Edward is more careful but she needs someone to be careful with her. I don't know which one is healthier. The relationship with Jacob is more of a human one but Bella needs Edward to exist. This question needs more thought...
"'Juliet gets dumped and ends up with Paris' would have never been a hit."

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
No I thinks that's one of Bella's most private emotions, I think she holds it close to her because it's the equivalent of keeping Edward close. I don't believe Jacob needs to know about that and I'm sure he already realizes how depressed she is.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
No I don't think you should ever just settle because you would only resent yourself in the end. If she knew beyond a reasonable doubt that she could give Jacob everything he needed, I still don't think it would be enough, there would always be some remnant of Edward, I think Jacob would always know that there was a bigger part of her heart dedicated to Edward and it would end up creating a huge void between them. If Bella was seriously considering it she would need closure and the only way to get that would be to say goodbye to Edward and I don't think she ever could.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
Yes I think he really should wait because he deserve to find with someone who can give him 100%, he deserves that. He's a good person and although Bella's a wonderful person, her heart belongs to someone else.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
Bella loves Jacob, Jacob is in love with Bella, they are two completely separate entities and should not be mistaken. Just because Jacob has saved Bella it shouldn't change anything and I don't think that either of them should expect it to.
Bella will always have a small spot in her heart for Jacob for getting her through the toughest time she's ever had to endure but I don't think it should ever mean that she should owe him something other than her friendship.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
Of course I think any love story has some bearing towards Romeo and Juliet. But I would say one of the biggest comparisons it the forbidden love. With Romeo and Juliet, it was the feuding parents, love against all odds, with Bella and Edward, He is a vampire she a human, love against all odds. Another is their undying love, no matter what happens all they want each other, they would die to be together if that's what it took.
The only difference is Romeo would never drink Juliet's blood (It sounds distasteful but its true)

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
No I just think she's as finely attuned to them as they are to her. I'm sure that even as scared as she was she knew for certain that it was one of the Cullens. I don't think she's masochistic, she just loves them, and I think that is completely justified, they will always be her family.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is 'healthier'
I think that Bella and Jacob's is healthier ( I am an Edward fan y'all ) but I think her and Edward's makes more sense.

Question...

Post by niclizdre »

When does Bella actually fall in love with Jacob? I know it is somewhere in New Moon, but I can't figure out exactly where her feelings cross that line between friendship and love. :?:

1. Should Bella confide in Jacob about Edward, her hallucinations, and her depression?
Hmmmm. Yes and no. Bella, being Bella, probably wouldn't want to torture Jake with the unbreakable feelings she has for Edward. She's much too altruistic to do that.
Then again, Jake deserves to know. He stitched Bella back up, breathed the life into her. His curiosity had to be killing him, too.

2. Would it be settling for Bella to hook up with Jacob? Should Bella try to find happiness with Jacob even if she can only give him part of her heart?
Mmmm. Another difficult question.
Edward would have wanted Bella to be happy; he wouldn't have minded. And Bella would have wanted Jake to be happy (and Charlie could be included). Though she couldn't give him all her heart, she'd have to survive off of what she had.
Then again, Edward and Bella are positively meant for each other. I'd never have Bella go with Jake if Edward was there.

3. What about Jacob? He loves Bella despite her strictly platonic feelings towards him, but should he wait out for someone who loves him as much as he loves Bella?
Maybe, though Bella could be a bit of a hypocrite if she said this, he should try a few other girls before settling on her. And, besides, he knows that she doesn't feel quite the same way, so he shouldn't set himself up for possible self-torture by losing Bella.

4. How do we factor in the fact that Bella now owes Jacob her life both physically and emotionally?
She owes her life physically and emotionally to Edward, too. Emotionally, in Forks, she would have been very... sad, missing the sunshine of Phoenix for the rest of her Washington life if Edward hadn't come in.
However, Bella really owes Jacob a pretty open best-friend relationship.

5. Is Romeo and Juliet's relationship similar to Edward and Bella's? How is it and how does it differ?
Yes, the two relationships are similar. To quote Edward:
"The odds... The odds are always stacked against us. Mistake after mistake. I'll never criticize Romeo again."
The odds were against Romeo and Juliet, too. Look how they ended up, simply because of mistakes resulting in misunderstandings. To add to it, each pair was determined to stay together no matter what. Bella's "suicide" resulted in Edward's would-be suicide. Romeo's suicide caused Juliet's suicide. Even if they went to hell for ending their own lives, they were determined to be in the same realm.

6. Should Bella have chosen to investigate Carlisle's car? Is her relationship with the Cullens masochistic?
That's both a yes and no answer.
It would have been safter to investigate with Jacob; I certainly don't think I would have had the nerve to do what she did.
Then again, what were the chances of Victoria's getting ahold of another Mercedes S55 AMG? (I know, she could have done it, but with someone so wild... and then James was more of the lure-her-into-a-trap-through-a-familiar-setting guy.)
Her relationship with the Cullens is slightly masochistic, but that's nothing compared to what her choosing to not have that relationship with them would be. There won't really be any pain to torture herself with after she changes, save leaving her human companions behind.

7. How does Bella and Jacob's relationship compare with Bella and Edward's? Which one is healthier?
I'd have to say it's very close--almost a tie--but Edward wins this one. We know Bella can't live properly without him, though Jake helped her regain a bit of herself. That's what really makes Edward win, though; Bella could never be fully "healthy" without the reason for her existence. In ways, he is her health.
Why it's so close; Jake doesn't have to worry about constantly killing her--he only has to worry when he's angry. He can be more playful with her without having fear of killing her with a twitch of his finger. He was what would have been right for Bella if the Cullens didn't exist. But that's now a "what if."
