Chapter Eight: Adrenaline

Post by Alphie »

These questions were supplied by Taxi.

1.) Knowing how Bella reacted in chapter five of Twilight to blood, were you surprised when Bella didn't react all that much to the blood?

2.) What did you think about the mention of the bears? Did you consider that it might play a future role in the book or did you not think anything of it?

3.) What was your opinion of the La Push guys at this point in the story?

4.) How did you feel about Bella looking for the meadow with Jacob?

Cool! I'm the first one to reply!
Anyway.
1) Yeah, I was surprised that Bella didn't puke/pass out/get lightheaded in any way. Maybe it was because she was too focused on hearing Edward's voice again.

2) When I first heard of them, I didn't think much of it. But as they kept being mentioned, I figured it was probably important. But what the "bears" turned out to be completely threw me for a loop. It was one of those "wait...what?" moments.

3. I really wasn't sure what to think of the boys yet. They were Jake's friends, not much more than that.

4. I was kind of mad, because the meadow is the place for Bella and Edward, no one else should see it. At this point, the meadow is special-sacred even-Bella and Edward only.

1.) I was very surprised at her reaction to the blood. Maybe it is worse when it is th blood of other people.

2.) I thought nothing of the mention of bears.

4.) I did not like Bella looking for the meadow at all. I figured it would be a repeat of the house incident.

Yes, considering Jake said there was a lot of blood. But she was probably preoccupied with Edward's voice.

2.) What did you think about the mention of the bears? Did you consider that it might play a future role in the book or did you not think anything of it?

Stephenie isn't the kind of author to just put in random information over and over, so I knew that bears would come up again. But the whole werewolf thing was kind of unexpected.

3.) What was your opinion of the La Push guys at this point in the story?

Nothing much; just Jake's friends.

4.) How did you feel about Bella looking for the meadow with Jacob?

I did want her to find it, but not with Jacob.

1.) Knowing how Bella reacted in chapter five of Twilight to blood, were you surprised when Bella didn't react all that much to the blood?
I think Bella was so preoccupied with hearing Edward's voice that the blood issue was supressed enough that it didn't matter so much.
2.) What did you think about the mention of the bears? Did you consider that it might play a future role in the book or did you not think anything of it?
I knew the bears would play a roll in the book although what that roll was I wasn't too sure but I thought Jacob was involved once he stopped seeing Bella after changing into a warewolf.
3.) What was your opinion of the La Push guys at this point in the story?
I thougth they were controling & scary but doing good things.
4.) How did you feel about Bella looking for the meadow with Jacob?[/color]
I didn't want her bringing Jacob into the meadow. It's a sacred place for just her and Edward.

1.) Knowing how Bella reacted in chapter five of Twilight to blood, were you surprised when Bella didn't react all that much to the blood?
I think she's still a bit numb-there are few big reactions left in her.

2.) What did you think about the mention of the bears? Did you consider that it might play a future role in the book or did you not think anything of it?
I don't remember thiking much of it.
3.) What was your opinion of the La Push guys at this point in the story?
I thought they reaklly were a freaky cult that might end up sacrificing Bella to the bears  .

4.) How did you feel about Bella looking for the meadow with Jacob?
I was just glad that she didn't go looking by herself-it seemed veru emotionally dangerous.

1.) My first reaction was that her own blood didn't bother her, but in chapter 2 of New Moon, as Carlisle is examining her wound, she states, "The smell of blood was making me dizzy. My ears rang." I suppose that the adrenaline and her hallucination were sufficient distractions, but she was also outside where the smell wouldn't have been as strong. It might've made her feel a little sicker when they were in the car.

2.) I was already on to the werewolf theory by then. Having recently re-read Twilight, the "descended from wolves" bit was fresh in my mind. I didn't think she was going to see them before knowing what they were.

3.) Again, I had already put together the puzzle. I thought it was silly how they called themselves 'Protectors,' and it didn't seem right that they should be so scary to everyone. Although I was aware of what they were, it still made me angry to see Jake so upset about it.

4.) I was concerned. Jacob would've felt... incosequential? Jealous, maybe. Angry, that Edward could hurt her so much even after he was gone. This beautiful meadow was a place of agony for Bella, and she still wanted to find it to be somehow closer to her true love. That would have been a horrible thing for Jake to have to process, especially since he's fallen in love with her, himself.

1.) Knowing how Bella reacted in chapter five of Twilight to blood, were you surprised when Bella didn't react all that much to the blood?

I was surprised that Bella didn't react to the blood. Every time we've seen her around blood she's ready to pass out or vomit. She was so into hearing Edward's voice that she must have blocked out any other thoughts. She wanted to get back on the bike!

2.) What did you think about the mention of the bears? Did you consider that it might play a future role in the book or did you not think anything of it?

The bears had to be important. The way they kept coming up it was impossible to ignor them.

3.) What was your opinion of the La Push guys at this point in the story?

I was afraid because Jacob was afraid. It didn't help that Billy was being so evasive. I wonder if Billy understood just how disturbed Jacob was he would have told him a little of what was going on.

4.) How did you feel about Bella looking for the meadow with Jacob?

I thought is was a bad idea. The meadow was such a special memory. When you try to relive a memory that is that unique you are bound for disappointment. It was a moment in time never to be repeated.

4. I was really upset that she went looking for the meadow with Jacob. I sort of hoped she would never find it- that's a place where her and Edward stay sacred, and being in the meadow without him is just... not cool.

1.) Knowing how Bella reacted in chapter five of Twilight to blood, were you surprised when Bella didn't react all that much to the blood?

No, I just figured she was so obsessed with the hallucination that it didn't phase her at the time. Her mind was definately distracted and I think with that kind of distraction the smell of blood didn't register properly with her.

2.) What did you think about the mention of the bears? Did you consider that it might play a future role in the book or did you not think anything of it?

I didn't really think anything about it. I had assumed that werewolves would come into play at some point and I just associated the bears with people not realizing they were werewolves.

3.) What was your opinion of the La Push guys at this point in the story?

I didn't think to much about them either because I figured they were the werewolves. i was just waiting for Jacob to join them.

4.) How did you feel about Bella looking for the meadow with Jacob?

It really bugged me. That is kind of sacred ground for her and Edward. That was the turning point in their relationship and I don't think she should have used Jacob to try and find it. Jacob cares so much for Bella that I think if he would of realized why she wanted to find it so bad it would have really hurt him emotionally. I also think it was kind of selfish for Bella to want him to go with her. She definately was not thinking of Jacobs feelings at all. Besides that is Bella and Edward meadow Jacob has no business being there.
