1. Yes, she is.

2. I think her subconscious was trying to tell her something. Yes, how Jake was talking about him, it would.

3. Bella does want to be visible when she isn't getting any attentsion.

4.I think that he likes Bella as not a zombie, but he's still cautious.

5. I thought it had no signifigence.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has 'nothing changed' in their absence?
No. I think the hospital was very sad to loose Carlisle. And of course the Quileute guys are all extatic. Charlie misses Alice and is furious with Edward for leaving Bella the way he did. Other than that, I don't think the kids at school interacted much with them, so it didn't really bother them.

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?
Yes, it made her more uneasy with him. She was unsure of him when he saved her in the forest and after speaking with Jacob she felt justified in those feelings.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?
I think she needed more distraction than she realized to be able to survive without Edward.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?
He loves it. I think he does. She was a zombie until she started hanging out with Jacob, so naturally he will put that together with her behavior change.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?
I knew it was becoming a more integral part of the story, I just wasn't sure exactly how. I was not expecting the actual turnout.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has "nothing changed" in their absence?
I think it has affected everyone that cares for Bella, she has become so changed because of her pain it has effected everyone around her, for these first chapters people treat her like she's made of glass and for good reason, she holding onto herself the best she can but she will never be complete again. (At this point)

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?
I think it was all suggestive, she was at the reservation and she knew that Sam was a part of the tribe, I think her subconscious mind was trying to wake her up a little.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?
I believe that because her protective numbness has abandoned her she wants to ease the pain a little, she's not new at the school and her invisibility reminds her of how distant she's been since "The End". Being involved could stop her thinking about things.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?
Charlie seems glad to have a little bit of his daughter back, she's not who she was but she's surviving and that's important to Charlie because he's so worried he's not being the best parent he could be. He probably attributes most of this change to Jacob because it's the only difference in her life since Edward left.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?
It started to become a bigger point, it was being mentioned more and more as the book progressed so the importance of it really began t become more evident, I still wasn't entirely sure what it meant, I was intrigued.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has 'nothing changed' in their absence?

Bella is the only one afected by them leaving because she was so involved with the whole family. Humans kind of feel that they are different and doesn't involve themself with them. So if your not involved why would you care if they leave?

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?

She is in shock and doesn't now what to do! She doesn't now sam very well even after she met him i got the feeling she doesn't now everything. She keeps dreaming of that the Cullens are away because that haunts her and at the same time she wonders who Sam really is, so there you have it to Thoughts combined in one dream.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?

The Cullens are gone everything she dreamed of, everyone she loved is gone! That is pretty shocking and live chainging why would you care how 'not important' people would think of you? Last year she cared what the thought about her but now that doesn't mean anything.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?

It doesn't do him much good.. But i find it hard to understand charlie so i dunno..

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?

I didn't think much of it the only thing i thought was what does that have to do with the story line? That it went to be a big deal i didn't see that coming at all.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has 'nothing changed' in their absence?

I havnt thought much about this. I imagine what has changed is behind the scenes. I mean, at the hospital where Carlisle worked, I imagine he was a superb doctor and could do much more than an average doctor. I imagine things changed a bit there. As far as the book goes, I dont see much change described. Jacob Black seems really at ease, though.

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?

The only thing I can think of is that this is forshadowing Uley's orders that Jacob can no longer be so involved with Bella, which would be detrimental to Bella. If I hadn't already finished the book, I would have no clue what Uley's presence in Bellas dream meant/

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?

Probably because she missed so much about what her friends have been up to, alienating herself from them. I imagine how frustrating it would be to suddenly wake up and realize you know nothing about whats going on in your friends' worlds. Of course, at this point Bella doesn't think she will ever see Edward again, so I imagine it should be important to keep relationships with her friends. A year before, she was new to the school and knew she would be the talk of Forks high, which is pretty uncomfortable when you do not know anyone.
4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?

Shocked, pleased, but wary. I'm sure he hopes she is getting over Edward, but doesn't want to get his hopes up. Since he doesn't know Bella's plans for "recklessness", I imagine he thinks most of her change in attitude is Jacobs doing.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?

Still didn't have a clue.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has nothing changed in their absence?

I think she was. Other than maybe the hospital suffering a bit due to not having a highly gifted physician. I don't think anyone else was. I'm pretty sure that that is what the Cullens aim for when they leave a place that it would be as if they were never there and then a few years down the road they may come up in a story about some class reunion and then even later down no one would remember that they ever existed because they don't mingle and I'm certain that's their intention.

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?

Her dream showed that she is more aware than she thinks she is. She knows that he's part of the tribe and the one who saved her from the forest but still there's something and she can't quite put her finger on it yet.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?

I think she wants to be seen so that she can be helped. She knows she can't get over Edward on her own and that she needs the help of someone, friends, family, new boyfriend just something.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?

He is alot happier now that she isn't a walking lifeless drone. He was worried for her and was powerless as to what to do to help so to see her once again starting to be herself probably made him happier than Bella thought she was. I don't think he thought it was all Jacob yet, he reaches that conclusion later on.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?

Now that there was a seond mention I felt certain that it was going to play into the plot but I was unsure as to how. I, like Bella, had forgotten the sotires of the werewolf legends that Jacpb had told her. Plus there's the fact that people kept describing them as bears that made me think that it couldn't be that. At some points though I thought it was a red herring that SM was using to jump us with something bigger later on...I was way off on that one.
Here, there, and everywhere...that's where you'll find me.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has 'nothing changed' in their absence?

A: No. Their leaving affected her and that affected how she reacted to others so everyone was affected by it in that respect, however nothing changed in that no one interacted with the Cullens before Bella so when they were gone it just went back to what it was.

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?

A: Yes. Jacob was he friend now and seemed to be in danger and she attributed that to Sam.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?

A: Because now she sees what it's really like and it's not a good place to be. She still doesn't want the spot light but being invisible now means being alone and that means time to think about you know who.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?

A: I think he does. He's happy but wary.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?

A: yes. no. no.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has 'nothing changed' in their absence?

Because noone else knew them or was close to them aside from the hospital.

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?

She disliked Sam because of what he was doing to Jacob's friends and their gang was not liked by him. What she had heard about him from Jacob turned her off of him.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?

Because now she has someone to turn to while she had just wanted to be numb before. She didn't care, but now that she's found someone who she enjoys spending time with, she doesn't want to go back to how she was.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing?

I think he's starting to understand and he's seeing what he's beginning to do. He's obvsly happy that she's getting back to her old self.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?

I just hoped it wouldn't be something bad. I didn't really care for the bear as long as it wasn't affecting Bella or the book negatively.

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has 'nothing changed in their absence?

I think there are others affected just maybe not quite as deeply since no1 was as close 2 them as Bella was

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?

I think she doesn't want 2 b invisible now because then she'll be alone and bein alone will make her want 2 think of Edward and her non-human family.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did?

I knew that something was up mostly because i stumbled upon a piece of info that let me kno jacob was a werewolf before i read the book. darn spoilers!

1) Is Bella the only one affected by the Cullens leaving? How has nothing changed in their absence?
the hospital where carlisle worked is probably affected.. and so is the La Push area..
no one was close to the Cullens like bella though. so she was the MOST affected.. and then i guess comes charlie.

2) Why is the dream different than before? Did Bella's renewed contact with Jacob's family change her perception of Sam Uley? How so and why?Sam Uley is .. dangerous. not good.

3) Why would Bella not want to be invisible now, when she wanted to be invisible last year?
it was normal to be invisible then.. not so much now.

4) How is Charlie affected by this new Bella? Does he perceive how much of it is Jacob's doing? most of it, if not all.

5) This is the second mention of the monstrous black bear. Did you realize at this point that there was more to it than that? What did you think was going on? Did you think it would turn into what it did? not werewolves, but something. i think when bella saw the russett wolf and imediately thought of jake.. that was something
