1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?

I could easily identify with Bella here. I moved two years ago. I know the feeling of being the new kid. Feeling a bit out of place, Being shy and especially the blushing.. Before this book I used to hate the rain!

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?

At first I felt like Renee was more like the child and Bella was more of a motherly figure. I felt bad for Bella but now I feel like they switch up the roles sometimes.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?

In the begining I didn't like Jessica but the others all seemed truley welcoming.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?

Edward has never scared me lol

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

Well I already knew what he was.. (Thanks to some friends) but other then that I thought he was like that to everyone..

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

I was deffinatly hooked. I just wanted to know more about Edward I guess. After a while though I thought he wasnt going to come back..

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I could not relate to the whole parental situation, but I could with almost every thing else.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I thought Renee was a little flighty, but cared about Bella. I thought Charlie was a Dad who was just happy to have his kid around.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I thought it would be nice to be the new girl at school and be treated like that and not shyed away from.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Intrigued.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
I thought maybe Edward was a little too attracted to Bella so that's why he acted that way.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
Of course it hooked me.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?

I related with her relationship with her father the most. They don't really talk, but its not awkward, thats just how they like it. Also, liking the sun. I love the sun, and when my family moved up north I felt much the same as what she did. And lastly, her clumsiness. I can't go one day without tripping, getting a bruise or otherwise putting myself in harms way, although not always to the extreme that Bella does.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?

Renee reminded me of Meg Cabbot's story "The Princess Diary"'s mom. Out there, caring, and a little childish at times. They even remarry.

Charlie, he reminds me of my dad...only more talkative, if you can imagine that.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?

I dislike Jessica. She seems like a user and is only nice to Bella because she's the hot new student that everyone is looking at. The rest are ok, nothing really stands out about them to me.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?

I'm mad at him! How dare he scare Bella like that. D<
But after that fades, I want to know more about him, to figure out the mystery behind the amber eyes.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

I think it was pretty rude. I wouldn't have been as timid as Bella was. I would have been in his face about it, ha ha. Then again, that would have ended badly, considering he was only trying to stay away from her blood.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

Are you kidding? I picked it up to see what the fuss was about...and the first page had me hooked. I don't' know what it was, but ever since then I've been a zombie, reading all day and night, and finally coming here to find a place to unleash my inner fan-girl.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I don't really think I related with Bella in the first chapter. Personally, I don't even like Bella.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I thought Renee was too nervous about Bella moving there.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I didn't like a few of them, others were ok though.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Intrigued.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
I was confused at first, but began to understand within the next few chapters.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
It hooked me!

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
Yes, I did. What she felt moving in the new high school was what I felt the first day in my new school.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I thought Renée was too much irresponsable, but very nice. Instead, I thought Charlie was a bit too quiet, but I understood that he was perfect for Bella to live with.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
Mike, well...I actually hated him...he was too oppressive.
I really liked Angela. She was kind, helpful, and she was more mature than the other ones.
Jessica...well, I thought she was nice at the first moment, but going on I changed my mind: she was too gossiper. But I thought she needed someone who distracted her from her everlasting thoughts.
Eric, I thought, was too cute!

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
I have developed a sort of admiration, I was certainly intrigued by Edward. Bella described him as a Greek statue, as a divinity...who wouldn't have resisted to his charm?!

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
Well, I thought it was...odd. But I knew he was a vampire, but there was something that I didn't realize at the first reading. Such as their fasting, his double-colored eyes, the imprint on Tyler's truck he left as he saved Bella. I know these happened in the following chapters...

Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what all the fuss was?
This chapter wasn't the one which made me in love with the book...but it was awesome as well...

1. Hmmm, I didnt really relate with Bella that much. I guess we both have brown hair...

2. At first I thought Charlie was really sweet since he bought Bella her truck. It sort of reminded me of my relationship with my dad because I'll say like a word to my dad a week. I thought Renee sounded really immature, irresponsible, and careless.

3. I really liked Angela and Mike. Eric and Jessica seemed nice and friendly.

4. I was certainly intrigued by Edward and why he was acting like he was towards Bella. Obviously, from the back of the book, I knew he was a vampire, so that kind of explained a lot of things.

5. I knew he was a vamp, so most of his odd behavior was reasonable and explainable.

6. No, this chapter isn't the one that got me hooked exactly. I mean, I definately wanted to keep reading, though.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with? I actually did relate to Bella, specifically during her lunch/biology periods; just seeing Edward and his siblings would make me feel inferior, let alone be assigned to sit anywhere near one of them! I would have acted the same way she did; very nervous and timid. She's very relatable. (: I love her "voice." Also, during Bella's car ride with Charlie, I could connect with her quite easily; I'm not all that much of a social butterfly, myself.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie? I thought Renee was going to be like the mum from the movie "Secondhand Lions;" I wondered if she was maybe choosing Phil over Bella, even though it was technically Bella's choice to move away. I really loved Charlie, though. He was quite easy to connect to, also.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets? At first I thought that they were all really nice, sweet, and seemed fun. I found it funny how Bella kept correcting them on her name. I really liked Mike. (:

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward? I didn't pay much attention to any of the other Cullens, except him. I was very intrigued by him, and I was already falling for him; before I read the book, I heard very good things about him. (:

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior? I felt sort of bad for Bella, and I would have reacted the same way. He was very intimidating to me, actually, and I would have felt very awkward sitting next to him. Though, it would be very hard to stop thinking of him... he's just so beautiful.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was? I was immediately hooked, right away, and I couldn't wait for more. (:

edit: I'm on my second time around for Twilight, so I'm trying to remember carefully what all of my first thoughts/reactions were. I'm just very into this thread. hah.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with? Yes, the part about everyone being interested in her because she was new. I was new to my middle school in 8th grade and even though I went to a pretty big school, I realized that people are excited over new people ,so I made tons of friends quickly, and even some guys, like Bella did.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie? I thought Charlie was at first trying a little to hard to win Bella's heart, since he bought her the truck, but I also couldn't help but love him for trying. I thought Renee was that mother who was more like a child type.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets? They seemed nice, I thought some of the girls she was eating lunch with were a little jealous of Bella getting all the attention

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward? A little of both, honestly. I thought it was intriguing how I was scared of him. I was curious as to why he was acting the way he was.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior? It was intriguing, yet, I wasn't quite sure why he acting like that.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was? Oh, I was hooked after this chapter.
