1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I kind of related with bella. she is shy, like me, and i daydream/think alot, so im spaced out much. and there was a guy I saw who i was instantly like, "hey, he looks interesting" , last year!!! interesting...
2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
My impression of Renee was that she was the type of mom that was taken care of by bella. she seemed to me the kind of irresponsible parent, who doesn't really take charge. Of Charlie I though he was the distant type of parent. he was much like bella and apparently was warry of bella's cooking skills.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I though Jessica was the...attention grabber, and was the girl constantly vying for attention. Angela was kind of quiet, the shy girl who kind of didn't belong with the "popular" people. Mike and Eric were the guys who seemed...the type to follow her everywhere.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
He was interesting to me. he seemed odd, but not scary. of course, If I were bella, I might have been a bit scared. but I still wouldn't be SCARED.
5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
That something was weird about him, like a secret, or he was really different. I mean, he SHOULD have been popular, with his good looks, his siblings included.
6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
Uhh, YEAH!!!!!!!!! This hooked me. I read through the rest of it quite easily.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with? The only thing that I could relate to was her innate ability to be invisible.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie? I didn't think much of Renee, only your typical 'mom and dating boyfriend' scenario. Charlie I thought was your typical working dad, absent most of the time but still caring.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets? Hahaha! I thought Jessica and Lauren were complete losers. I kind of like Mike a little bit, other than that not much.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward? Oh no, I was quite enchanted.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior? Interesting, it kept me reading.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was? Don't really remember but I usually tend to finish the books I start.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I guess just by the fact that she was or at least felt like she was invisible.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
With Renee...it was just the typical single mother thing. Charlie, I really didn't put much thought to him (both parents really), but, I guess I needed more background...

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I liked Angela. I mean, she was shy and all...something I could relate to it. Jessica, she seemed stuck up (although, most Jessica's that I know are like that), Mike, well he seemed like a lost puppy wanting a new owner. lol.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
INTRIGUED! Lol, sorry about all the caps, but I fell for Edward from the beginning. I wanted more Edward and less Bella.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
Well, I read this book recently so a lot of people had let the cat out of the bag...I knew he was a Vampire, but after a certain things, I think I could have figured it out...if people wouldn't have told me.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
I am usually hooked by the first page.

1.) Yes, I did. This is because I really felt for the way she talked (well, I guess the way SM writes). She had some "quiet sarcasm" about her that wasn't particularly bitter or anything, and I've got a bit of that. And she's a klutz. That added to it A LOT.

2.) Charlie seemed rather aloof and kind of cold. Like how it would be to live with the neighbor across the street who you are only mildly acquainted with. Renee- I actually was really annoyed with her. I thought she was a total ditz and that I was going to want to smack her before long.

3.) I was kind of surprised. From what I've seen, no one gets that many people welcoming them that fast. She must have been drop-dead gorgeous to get that if she lived anywhere around me. At first, I really liked Jessica, but then I grew to move my appreciation for her over to Angela.

4.) I was intrigued. Mainly because I already knew what he was going into the book because of what I'd heard. But, because of the vampire stereotypes, I was expecting some extremely seductive man who wanted nothing but to attract her into death. So, it was close to what I thought, I guess... but much more charming.

5.) See #4. I was very surprised. I immediately figured he would try to win Bella over and... "claim"... her. But he did not. I was in shock.

6.) The way Bella talked is what hooked me. Edward was just extra incentive.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?

Not a lot. I couldn't understand why she was leaving Phoenix if she loved it so much. The only parts I seemed to relate was her intrigue in the Cullens and how awful a far move can be.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?

Charlie, I thought was so sweet trying to figure out how to be a dad. Renee on the other hand got on my nerves a bit. First how could she not read her own daughter and know that she didn't really want to leave, and 2nd her constant e-mailing to check on her. I guess it reminded of me when I moved away and how obsessive my mom was. I appreciated her concern, but one e-mail or phone call would do the trick, not a million.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?

I instantly loved Angela. Maybe because I'm really shy and I hope that people feel relieved when they're around me (like Bella) rather than offended or bored by my seeming lack of interest. Jessica just seemed fake to me. Like she was just trying to be around Bella in hopes of sharing all the attention Bella was getting. Mike, oh Mike. After the first chapter I was wondering how Bella could resist him? At least not be attracted to him at all.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?

So intrigued. Everything about Edward makes you want to know more. Especially reading it the second time around I was trying to put together everything he told Bella in New Moon about how hard it was for him.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?

The first time around I thought he was intrigued by the new girl but knew he couldn't pursue her. But I couldn't make sense of why he was so cruel and that's probably why I kept reading.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

I was definitely intrigued, but I didn't get hooked until later.

I am revamping this book since I read the series so fast the first time around.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
While I can't immediately relate to her (I'm a 40-something mom), I def. can understand her. I could def. recall the experiences of starting at a new high school, not knowing anyone, feeling self-conscious.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
Married on a fling, too young to realize what a marriage takes. It seemed as if Charlie knew what he wanted in life yet Renee didn't and thought she could make the most out of following the man she loved. I think it was far more of a disappointment for Renee ... she needed more in her life and Charlie was happy with less.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
I immediately started picturing the type of people I went to high school with ... the geeky chess-playing Eric, etc.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Definitely intrigued!

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
Not much b/c this book was recommended by my principal/boss so she kind of gave me the heads-up.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
Stephenie had me at the first words!

*I am re-reading the series again but I realized that I never answered these questions, so here they are!

Chapter One: First Sight

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
-I did relate to Bella right away. Although I never experienced the part about her parents are divorced, back when I was younger, I would only see my dad rarely because he was living in another country. Also, I could relate to her about moving to a new place, and how she doesn't like it for now. I was so used to the old environment that I didn't want to move anywhere any longer. I don't really adapt well to change, so if anything, I hate moving and having to do that 'meeting new people' ordeal. I could also relate to her by the 'crying when I'm angry' kind of thing. That usually happens to me too, when I'm really angry or mad, tears will start flowing from my eyes. And I was also the type who liked to keep her thoughts to herself.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
-I thought Renee was really a caring mother. She was nice to Bella and I like how they have a close relationship with one another, and that she's not the type of mother who thinks about herself first before her own children. I could tell that she really care about Bella's feelings, and she's doing everything she can to keep that relationship they have. It's genuine. With Charlie, I really felt sorry for him when Bella said that he hasn't gotten over Renee yet. Being separated is hard, and not being over with Renee yet, well, you could just see how alone he feels. He is also a very caring dad, and he's not the type who wants to know everybody's business, since he never really drilled Bella the first night she stayed over at his house. Oh, and it was really nice of him for giving her the car.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
-I thought that Angela & Eric were really nice. They came up to her, befriended her, which is something not a lot of kids would do nowadays, especially to newcomers. Mike is such a big flirt, hahaha. You could tell that he has a crush on Bella right after he said the 'I would have talked to you' when they were talking about how Edward avoided her in Biology. With Jessica, I thought she was one of those stuck up girls that only befriends someone just for their own self-gain. She wanted to be more popular, and for that to happen she tried to befriend Bella because she was different from everyone else in Forks High School.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
-I would say that I was intrigued by Edward. There was something very mysterious by the way he moves, and his actions towards Bella when they first sat together. No one would ever act that way around anyone whom they first meet, so I was hooked to him right away. I love his mysterious side, it always makes you want to guess what he's up to, and he always leaves you guessing for more.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
-Oops, I think I already answered this to the question above, but Edward's behavior was something you had to decipher. If I hadn't known that he was a... you know, I would really think that there was something going on that he didn't want anyone else to know about. He had this 'mysterious' side of him, and I totally dig that.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
-When I read the lines, 'When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve towards the end', I was definitely hooked. I wanted to know what this book had to offer, so yes, I was hooked by the time I even read the Preface, haha!

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
Yes. She was quiet, dark and shy. SHe didn't have very many friends and she seemed apathetic that she was going away on her own terms.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie? I felt like Renee was too reliant on her daughter and Charlie was just confused.

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
They seemed so typical for high schoolers, but it was refreshing when she was well liked and well accepted!

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
Intrigued, but only because that seemed like the obvious thing not to be. The silence was intriguing.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
Oh I totally knew. It was just too obvious. That's all I could think about.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?

Page 50 was the exact moment I knew I was hooked. But chapter 1 was really good. I think to get someone totally turned off to like the book you have to convince them to get to chapter 3.

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
I related to her with her not fitting in, her akward silences with Charlie in the car and not knowing what to say to people at her school. I relate to her a lot because like her i'm not the typical gossiping mall shopping teenage girl. I also share her love of the sun and the arizona desert landscape

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
Everyone says Renee is overprotective and see might be a little but i think shes selfish. Look what her daughter has done for her all her life and she is unwilling to sacrifice herself for her daughters sake. I know it was Bellas idea to move but Renee probably was so focused on herself she didn't realize how hard it was for Bella to move to Forks. Renee cares about her daughter but she so focused on her own life that she barely has time to focus on anything else

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
Typical, a little full of themselves (jessica, lauren) and overeager. But welcoming.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
INTRIGUED

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
Because i knew before hand it was a vampire story i sort of guessed but i had no idea it was that big of a deal and i though he was being a jerk considering its not her fault.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
Yeah it hooked me on the book. I really wanted to unravel the mystery of Edward Cullen

1. Did you relate to Bella right away? If so, what part of her did you identify with?
Her shyness..how she didn't really like everyone looking at her.

2. What were your first impressions of Renee and Charlie?
I felt like Renee was a free spirit, maybe not the most realiable mom. With charlie I just felt bad for him. I really hope he finds love soon!

3. What were your first impressions of the friends Bella meets?
That most of them were fake and only wanted to know the current gossip.

4. Were you scared or intrigued by Edward?
oh wow. not at all scared. completly intrigued. I wished instantly that I could know him and talk to him.

5. What did you think of Edward's odd behavior?
That there was more to the story than what Bella knew at that moment. I mean, the back of the book even told us he was a vampire.

6. Did this chapter hook you on the book or were you still trying to see what the fuss was?
I was hooked right away. I clearly understood the fuss. haha
