1. Bella is surprised and touched that Charlie put snow chains on her truck because she isn't used to people taking care of her. Later on we know that Renee called Bella hysterical to have her come home yet Renee wasn't in Phoenix. Given all of this what were your impressions of Renee?

I think it's the usual response of an overprotective mother, she maybe thought that it was Charlie's fault that Bella got that accident. I prefer Charlie rather than Renee

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?

I had to read this scene few times because at first i didn't catch what really happened in the parking, and then with Bella's thoughts about the accident i understood a bit better

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?

I found it totally different of Renne's response, and i think that Charlie just let her daughter be, i didn't want to act as Renee, although he was also worried about Bella

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?

The information we got is under Bella's eyes, and she finds him atractive (not an unusual thing :D ), but i was impressed of his youth, how could he pass for Edward father if he was that young too

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?

More than intrigue, i think they left me curious and wanting to know why he acted that way

1. Bella is surprised and touched that Charlie put snow chains on her truck because she isn't used to people taking care of her. Later on we know that Renee called Bella hysterical to have her come home yet Renee wasn't in Phoenix. Given all of this what were your impressions of Renee?

Reading it in those words make Renee sound irresponsible. If Bella wasn't used to being taken care of that means that she basically had to do everything for herself at home. And when Renee freaked because she went home alone it seems like she'd think that stupid of Bella or something. I'm confused now lol

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?

I remember almost everything. I hadn't quite caught the whole Edward lifting the van off of her thing because in the actual event when it happened it isn't described like that so when Bella mentioned it was like "Wait what?! WHERE?!" And I went back and read it again. But other than that I remember, with a book like this, I pay VERY close attention. It's SO good!

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?

He seemed genuinely concered for his daughter but it seemed like he tried to hold it in so as to not embarress her or scare her or make her think he was an over protective freak.

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?

First thing I thought was: "Damnit, I wish I could see what he looked like!" LOL My first impression was that he was caring compassionate person and that he and Edward had a bond that was a bit more than just father son, like friends but ones that really watch eachothers backs.

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?

They definetely didn't frighten me. They made me want to know more, I wanted to know what he was hiding. Well, I already knew but you know what I mean! They kind of pissed me off too! I was like "Grr! Just tell her you bloody idiot!"

It was here that I began to subtly dislike Renee. Bella's thoughts and comments up to that point suggested that her mother was something of a flake.

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?

No, I had a good idea of what was going on. ;D

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?

Charlie is a good dad, if a little enthusiastic.

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?

"Homina homina homina hoooooooooooooot...."

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?

No. My thoughts: "Pfft. What a typical guy."

1. Bella is surprised and touched that Charlie put snow chains on her truck because she isn't used to people taking care of her. Later on we know that Renee called Bella hysterical to have her come home yet Renee wasn't in Phoenix. Given all of this what were your impressions of Renee?

I think of Renée's reaction as similar to that of a normal, hysterical mother: act first, think later. Her concern for Bella's welfare is made obvious in this segment, and it shows that her impulsory action is to make sure her daughter's okay. Which is semi-responsible, I suppose, lol. She probably didn't realize right away that she was hundreds of miles away from where home was at the time, considering her hysteria.

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?

After the first read through, I think I got the gist of what was going on; the general idea, I suppose. But, after reading through it again, more thoroughly this time, I built up on my original foundation as to what happened.

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?

I guess very paternal-ish, to say the least, lol.

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?

"That's Edward's father figure?!"

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?

As I think I've said in response to the first chapter's questions, I can't say that Edward frightens me (yet). So, intrigued, of course.

What would your mother do in that situation? Renee seems caring and irisponsible, and more like a child than a mother. I prefer Charlie. She seems a little hairbrained and forgettfull, and prone to over-reacting. Sounds like my mother.
2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?
I had to re-read the action scenes once just to amke sure i ahd it right. its so srtange that you all driev on the wrong side of the road, everything is different over here. Bellas thoughts made it a little clearer, and i understood exactly were the van came from.
3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?
He seemed to be genuinly concerned for his daughters welfare, but not quite as histericle as Renee, He reacted as most fathers would.
4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?
WOW
5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?
Intrigue would be the word I think.

1. Bella is surprised and touched that Charlie put snow chains on her truck because she isn't used to people taking care of her. Later on we know that Renee called Bella hysterical to have her come home yet Renee wasn't in Phoenix. Given all of this what were your impressions of Renee?
That she was more of the child (not meaning little kid, meaning offspring/younger) then Bella, and Bella is more or less taking care of her.

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?
Well, I read that sequence over and over while I was reading it the first time, letting the details sink in. But as I read the book again and again, even more came to my attention.

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?
I think it was actually quite calm.

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?
That he was handsome, and had Bella mesmerized, although not as much as she was with Edward. I bet you Edward was a bit jeleous when Bella looked/gazed/took a double look at him.

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?
I thought it was intrigueing...move over Bella! haha

1. Bella is surprised and touched that Charlie put snow chains on her truck because she isn't used to people taking care of her. Later on we know that Renee called Bella hysterical to have her come home yet Renee wasn't in Phoenix. Given all of this what were your impressions of Renee?
I thought she was being the usual overprotective mother but I thought she needed to pay attention more seeing as she wasn't even in Phoenix.

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?
I had to go back and read it a few times, but it might have also had something to do with the fact that the TV was on. lol :D But once I read it again I got it completely and I wanted to know what had happened immediately.

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?
I thought he was very worried but I also thought he needed to be with her a little longer. Even though that would have irritated her (and me) to death, it would have seemed like he cared a little more about her.

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?
My first thought honestly was yay sexy doctor! lol But as I read more about him in that scene I just automatically wanted to know more about him. He just seemed like such a likeable character and he is! But I thought he was very caring and was concerned about other people which also made him an immediate attraction for me!

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?
To be honest, I was a little bit of both. I was frightened for Bella's sake, but I personally was intrigued. I definitely wanted to know more!

She seems to me like one of those 'cool' moms. It appears that her and Bella have traded roled. Bella is the parent and Renee the teenager. Renee to me is a person who likes to remain a child at heart.

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?

I read it then I went back and pictured it in my head. I got most of it the first time and then on my second read I'm pretty sure I got all of it.

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?

It seemed very calm, as if he was just glad that she was safe and pratically unharmed. I wonder if he had known that Edward had saved her if he would have hugged or thanked Edward?

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?

I'm going to go jump in front of speeding vans and almost get run over more often now.

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?

Damn him and his carefully editied, non-revealing comments! Damn them I say! :x

I think she means well, but from what has been described so far of Renee, it is Bella who is the more mature woman in the relationship. I kind of picture Renee as a happy hippie flower mom who likes to take things as they come, no thinking, pure of heart, but would be better off to look before she jumps.

And by saying come home, she may be saying come home to her, not to the acutal place of residence in Phoenix.

2. The accident is the first great action scene in the book. Did you get all the details right in your head the first time, or did you realize you missed finer points when Bella thinks about the accident later?

I had to go back to try and picture everything that happened in my head. The first time I went through the accident scene I was like ... what just happened??? Second time I read every single word and tried to place each action in sequence in my head. Man ... that was a lot of work.

3. What did you think about Charlie's response to the accident?

My first thought was he's gotta be in on this ... why isn't he saying anything?!?!?!

I think he was going to leave it to Edward to sooth the situation. He did in the end anyway.

4. This is the first time we meet Carlilse. What were your first impressions?

He's like a blonde George Clooney from ER. OMGSOHAWT! lol.

5. Did Edward's cool and even sarcastic comments regarding the accident intrigue you or frighten you?

I was like this guys is being stupid! Just freakin tell her, she's going to figure it out anyway. It would make things so much easier. Ah well.[/b]
I wish my boyfriend sparkled.
