1. I want their house!!
I think, the huge windows and the fact that it's isolated, and surrounded by forest, it was very appealing to me.
And I loved how open the inside seemed.
Though I was never sold on Edwards carpet, probably because in my mind it kept coming up orange, lol

2. I like Esme especially in this chapter, I don't know why, I just always was. I like how welcoming she is to Bella, and also that Edward says "They like you, you know. Esme especially." I really like that line :)

3. I don't remember what I thought at the time, I probably considered it though.

4. Bella! Edwards got the whole charm thing down, he's far more confident, plus he only had to meet the one person, lol

1. What were your impressions of the house that the Cullens live in?

I thought the house would be a huge old looking house that was modernly decorated .

2. This is the first time Bella meets the Cullens ( other than Carlisle ) and gets to for an impression based on her experience alone. In other words, Edward no longer describes them for her, she gets to see them herself. In this chapter, she mostly interacts with Carlisle and Esme, what were your impressions of them.

I thought Esme was amazing , she was so motherly like . Carlisle was really nice to her , I really liked them both.

3. There is a brief mention of Alice having seen the visit of other vampires. What was your reaction to this when you first read it? Did you have any idea that it would turn into the large disaster that takes over until the end of the novel?

No , I thought they were just friends of the Cullens

4. Edward and Bella describe being nervous about meeting/interacting with each other's families as boyfriend and girlfriend. Who do you think is more nervous Edward or Bella and why?

Bella , because she's meeting a whole vampire family . That would freak anyone out.

I've mulled over this for a while now...and maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to understand what Edward means when he says:
"He [Charlie] left an hour ago--after reattaching your battery cables, I might add. I have to admit I was disappointed. Is that really all it would take to stop you, if you were determined to go?" -pg 313

Where does he mean regarding where Bella would "go"?

1. What were your impressions of the house that the Cullens live in?

It reminded me of the house that is in Interview with a Vampire movie that Louis was living in. A huge southern plantation owner's house--not something I would really expect to see in Washington.

They came across to me as typical parents really. Esme being so loving and welcoming Bella into her home while Carlisle is trying to spend time with his family but he has to run off to wrok later on. They seemed so normal as parents that it made you forget that they were vampires for a while.

3. There is a brief mention of Alice having seen the visit of other vampires. What was your reaction to this when you first read it? Did you have any idea that it would turn into the large disaster that takes over until the end of the novel?

I didn't really think anything of it because the Cullens seemed to be very much in control as to what happens in Forks when it had to do with vampires.

4. Edward and Bella describe being nervous about meeting/interacting with each other's families as boyfriend and girlfriend. Who do you think is more nervous Edward or Bella and why?

Even though Bella was more obviously nervous (especially because we see it through her eyes), I think Edward may have been a bit more nervous. First of all, the guy always gets more pain from the girl's side of the family because dads tend to be overprotective of their daughters when it comes to dating. Edward already knew this from knowing other people's thoughts and knowing Charlie's rom being in close proximaty to him but he can't predict exactly what would happen.
Here, there, and everywhere...that's where you'll find me.

1. What were your impressions of the house that the Cullens live in?

A: I was surprised like Bella. I wasn't expecting cobwebs or coffins but I certainly wasn't expecting the brightness that SM describes.

2. This is the first time Bella meets the Cullens ( other than Carlisle ) and gets to form an impression based on her experience alone. In other words, Edward no longer describes them for her, she gets to see them herself. In this chapter, she mostly interacts with Carlisle and Esme, what were your impressions of them.

A: Some of the kindest most lovely people you could ever meet.

3. There is a brief mention of Alice having seen the visit of other vampires. What was your reaction to this when you first read it? Did you have any idea that it would turn into the large disaster that takes over until the end of the novel?

A: I knew it was going to be big and cover probably the rest of the book but I didn't think it would require a cross country trip. That made it so much more exciting.

4. Edward and Bella describe being nervous about meeting/interacting with each other's families as boyfriend and girlfriend. Who do you think is more nervous Edward or Bella and why?

A: Again, I think they were equal in this. Bella was concerned because she'd never had this before and really as much as she loves Charlie, they aren't all that close yet. They spent so many years apart she really couldn't predict his behavior. As to Edward he had as much to worry about. He knew his family well and that caused a problem, Jasper being one. Edwards desire to protect Bella continues. Then there's Rosalie's obvious annoyance. He was afraid of the more physical danger but so desperate to keep this going.

1. What were your impressions of the house that the Cullens live in?
I hadn't imagined it quite like that. I pictured something a bit more scary.. you know like a haunted house. Although, I was quite pleased that I wasn't correct. I like the way their house actually was.

They both seemed sweet. Maybe Bella interacted with them more so than the others, because they were Edwards "parents" and they were happy that he had found someone to make him so happy, and Bella could sense that they really were grateful for her existence.

3. There is a brief mention of Alice having seen the visit of other vampires. What was your reaction to this when you first read it? Did you have any idea that it would turn into the large disaster that takes over until the end of the novel?
I didn't guess it'd go on till the end. I figured there'd be some massive fight, or something, but, I didn't think it'd last that long, no.

4. Edward and Bella describe being nervous about meeting/interacting with each other's families as boyfriend and girlfriend. Who do you think is more nervous Edward or Bella and why?
Bella, definitely. She has to meet a house full of intimidating vampires. What reason would Edward have for being nervous? Edward is perfect, aside from having the urge to drink people's blood, so why should he be nervous?

1. What were your impressions of the house that the Cullens live in?

I still fantasize about it despite having read the book many times. The house is amazing and beautiful. I just want to see it.

Esme is the mother I want. Loving, caring, sweet, warm. She's like the ideal mother. Carlisle is very interesting. I like him. He's one of those characters you want to know more about that you just can't seem to get enough of.

3. There is a brief mention of Alice having seen the visit of other vampires. What was your reaction to this when you first read it? Did you have any idea that it would turn into the large disaster that takes over until the end of the novel?

I just figured it would be a little stop by, say hi, go on kind of thing. I love that it took us through the entire book. Without it, there wouldn't have been such an amazing story behind it.

4. Edward and Bella describe being nervous about meeting/interacting with each other's families as boyfriend and girlfriend. Who do you think is more nervous Edward or Bella and why?

I thin Edward is more nervous. He doesn't seem to show it as much, but he can hide his emotions. He has had 107 years(correct me if I got the number wrong) to perfect this. Who knows what's hiding behind that mask of his.

1. What were your impressions of the house that the Cullens live in?
I'm not entirely sure what I was expecting but that wasn't it. It was so beautiful sounding though, almost an oversized cottage feel or something. It's light, airy feel seems to contrast to the constant constraint the vampires live in. I loved Edward's line about if being the only place they can be themselves.

2. This is the first time Bella meets the Cullens (other than Carlisle) and gets to form an impression based on her experience alone. I honestly didn't get much of an impression other than loving parents. Esme especially seemed to care greatly for Edward's happiness and to want desperately for Edward and Bella to work out.

3. There is a brief mention of Alice having seen the visit of other vampires. What was your reaction to this when you first read it? Did you have any idea that it would turn into the large disaster that takes over until the end of the novel?
I didn't take much notice of it, other than to think about how exactly Edward was going to be justifying his protectiveness to everyone else. I never in a million year imagined that it would turn into what it did.

4. Edward and Bella describe being nervous about meeting/interacting with each other's families as boyfriend and girlfriend. Who do you think is more nervous Edward or Bella and why?
I think Bella is more nervous. With Edward's ability he has it a bit easier in knowing what to say or do to make the right impression where as Bella is completely on her own. Also, Edward is more confident in himself while Bella is struggling with figuring out how one vampire could like her, much less how a whole family will.

It sounds pretty open and full of sunlight for a vampire's house. I was expecting a mansion, but nothing that normal people might live in. ^.^

My impression was that the are really kind loving people who are okay with the fact the Bella is getting so involved with there lives. I also got the impression that they were trying there best not to scare or upset Bella

honestly, no. haha. I'm so stupid. >.<
I kind of just past right by it.

Bella because, well they are vampires. xD
Plus she already had a feeling that Rosalie didn't like her anyways.

1 It was, obviously large. It seems like a nice place to live. A whole wall made of glass seems like it would invade privacy, but they aren't near any other houses and they don't sleep in their rooms anyway.

2 I can't remember. I've changed my mind too many times. But, I'm pretty sure Bella was right, they thought she'd be afraid of them, not of their feelings toward her.

3 I pretty much figured something bad would happen. She's Bella, after all.

4 Bella. Edward has less people to meet, and he can read their minds. Plus, even though it doesn't really bother her, the Cullens ARE vampires, she doesn't know what they live like or what they think of humans
