So I looked at the book for a while. On the internet, in the hands of my friend, and I even ordered it from the library last summer, though I had to return it before I started (got hooked on Orson Scott Card). I heard how much everyone else liked, but I thought: honestly, it can't be that good, can it? A first time author, and it came to her in a freaking dream!

some people have all the luck.

Hi, I'm Joy, and I live in Texas, though I would prefer to live somewhere like Forks. No, not because of the vampires (those are the awesome added bonus), but because it's cold and wet and covered in 'squashy green stuff'.
See, I was born in England, where it rains almost as much as Forks. I'm going to take this moment to get sidetracked and say that I lived very close to the city Carlisle. *grins*
So, yeah, anyway, I prefer the cold and wet. But I make the best of it by rejoicing when the weather channel says it's going to rain, even though it's pretty easy to tell beforehand.
I first started Twilight when my friend threatened to kill me if I didn't. I started and... that was that. It took me... about five hours to finish it, and then I made my mom take me to the bookstore so i could get New Moon, and then stole my friend's copy of Eclipse within the week. I have never read a book that fast short of Harry Potter.
Usually, I get over a book/series I'm done with (at least for now) and move on to the next one within a couple of days. this was more like three weeks. I'm finally onto the City of Bones, which is good. I thought I wouldn't be able to read anything but Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse for the rest of my life (not that's entirely bad, but after a five reads I would have memorized the series).

I'm a reader, a writer, and a student teacher (not someone learning to be a teacher, more of a translator. I help my classmates because I speak both 'teacher' and 'teenager' with a fair amount of fluency.) I wrote a short story for my High School application which I won't show anyone untill I'm sure the acceptance commitee has read it, so there will be no plagiarism issues. I think it's pretty cheesy, anyway. I also write fantasy stories, which I sometimes post here: under the username of Treewriter. Though not the most recent of attempts.

Oh, jeez, I'm probably boring you. Sorry! *slips away quietly*

Welcome to the home of the happily obsessed! We love having new addicts makes the rest of us feel more normal.

Check out the Newcomer's Guide, it's really helpful for navigating the site. Stephenie's Personal Correspondence is a must-read. I thought the timeline was really interesting too. Stephenie pops her head in here from time to time. You can use the search feature to find her posts. Her username is, amazingly, "Stephenie." Don't forget the "e".

See you around the boards.

Hi there!

Although you don't live here anymore, you should pop in to the British Thread in the 'Flight to Phoenix' section.

And you write too? Yay! There's a writer's thread too, have a look around.

Anyway, welcome to the Lex, and I hope you enjoy your time here. :D
