I think Jasper is my favorite character (other than Bella and Edward of course) I think his gift is the most interesting, plus the fact that from his physical description he sounds gorgeous! I hope he has a larger role in the new books.

I like Jasper because he seems the calmest of the Cullen family, most mature maybe?, other than Carlisle. Jasper just strikes me as a really dedicated person and I think that his dedication is part of what gives him his charisma. He's one of the characters that I like better.

When you say "like Carlisle" and that he is dedicated, I hope you realize that Jasper isn't as dedicated to the CUllen way of life the same way the others are. What I get from the information Stephenie gave out, Jasper is loyal to Alice, and since Alice wants to be a vegitarian, then Jasper is a vegitarian.

Jasper fascinates me to no end. I can't wait till we get more of his story. But alas, she said we had to wait till book THREE for that. Ugh.

I meant that he comes off as more mature than the other boys, with the exception of Carlisle, I'm remembering the deleted scene where Emmett was antagonizing Edward and Edward hit him, I wasn't referreing to just his dedication to the "vegetarian" way of life, which I had read comes from his love of Alice. I meant he more seemed to be dedicated in what he does. For example I think it would be harder to give up drinking human blood if you had done it for years, even with his love of Alice it must have been hard. Also I read that he was an officer in the army and in my opinion that in itself takes dedication in order to be able to rise through the ranks. Also his taking care of Bella factored in my conclusion.

Jasper's gift is a frightening one. The ability to change someone's mood to your advantage is extremely unnerving, to me at least. It can make them forget their motives or purpose for being angry or upset and...well, it just seems to me that he has a good hold on people's moods and reactions. He coud manipiulate them mercilessly.
It's just a good thing that he's so loyal to Alice and she doesn't let him overuse his gift. Um, I assume.

I think we're lucky that Jasper's a good guy or just think of all the danger his gift could cause. Imagine being a human and how easy it would be for him to lure them to him to eat... *shudders*

Jasper is only one of the characters i didn't "catch on"
I just don't feel him. I can't see him in my head, what is very weird :/
