Does it undermine the worth of love if you have no say about it? Does it make a relationship stronger -- or less meaningful -- if there is no possibility that the imprinter will ever fall out of love?
How would you feel about either imprinting or being imprinted on?
What do you think Stephenie wants us to think about imprinting?
As many who have already posted i believe that imprinting can be both a pro and a con depending on how you look at it.Yet for some reason I'm leaning towards con.if you look closely you can see that the book closely follows the thred of religion that Stephenie values so much in her life (ex.Edward's blood can be represented as sin )Which reminded me so much of in the Bible God giving the people the free will to pick him or the world and all its evils. I personally believe that people should have the choose because like in the Bible why would somone that loves you as quil's girlfriend does him or back to religion as God does want you to be forced into loving them .Yes is it every girl's dream to find that perfect person but where's the fun in that on the imprinter or the imprintee having their love and basically their life planned out for them.Life without choice whether or not the choices made for you were good ones doesn't seem to actually be life .In a way you could look at yourself as a puppet being controled by a puppeter. While I believe that Stephenie meant for imprinting to be a positive thing you can also see wheree in it's good intentions can have its negative efffects such as Leah's pain that Sam caused her by imprinting on Emily.I think in a way it undermines the worth of love because of the way each person if perfect for you no one should be perfect for anyone .Love is about overcoming struggles and how can people have struggles if their realtionship is perfect.
