Princeton is "having a party," but that is basically all that they, Brunswick Square and North Brunswick (rt. 1) had figured out. None were sure of a "prom" theme, which I'm glad i found out, because we were all prepared to show up dressed to the nines.

As of right now, I reserved my books at Borders in Nassau (sp?) Park...right past Market Fair...the GUY i talked to sounded excited about it and had actually heard of it when i asked him, lol.

I love B&N and was super excited about the prom theme (we had each girl covered, vamps - humans alike in our group!) but I really cant see going somewhere where they said, "The Stephenie Meyer books?" in a way that made me wonder if they had ever heard of it before, even though they probably have 50 copies of Eclipse on the display table in the front right now! Grr.

If anyone has different info, or got a more knowledgeable associate who knew more about any events the general Lawrenceville-Princeton-New Brunswick areas, please let me know...i really just want to go where there are going to be fans and fun times!
I called EB B&N last night and the guy told me to call back at the end of the month.
no help whatsoever.

LOL, i KNOW!

The one lady at Market Fair asked if I wanted to reserve my book for next weekend and I was like, get it a week early? SIGN ME UP.

Any idea where you will end up? EB is the B&N i usually shop at, but they seemed so blah about the whole thing...

To answer the question above me the best way to go about this is to call the store or go in and tell a bookseller that you want to pre-order the book. If you get me I'll talk your ear off about the event and book lol. Our theme is prom themed and all of us booksellers will be in promwear so definatley come in your prom costume, we will be give prizes for best costume. Also, we will have a spot where you can get your prom picture taken and we will possibly being doing frames for the pictures. We will also have a station where we will be making braclets. We will have punch and music form Stephenie Meyer's plyalist playing all night. We will be having trivia so brush up on your knowledge of the books. And our cafe will be serving an Edward drink and a Jacob drink. So, if you are around on August 1 at 9:00 definately stop by we will be having tons of fun. ANd def try to pre-order the book. If anyone has anymore questions you can post here or message me.

OMG!!! This is so devestating and depressing!!!!!! Us New Jersians have no way of getting to a decent Release Party. All NJ Lexiconers should just throw ourselves a party. Seriously! Im really pissed that no store is throwing a party. If they do, 5 people are going. Everyone from the Lexicon and NJ should just pick a place in NJ and all go to it and meet there. That way we know that people will actually be going and there will be no more confusion. I want to go to a prty where there will be LOTS of people and LOTS of lexiconers. It just seems like that will never happen because I talk to bookstore owners and they havent got a clue about a release prty or Twilight at all!!!!

cullinist5201995- I live like 15 minutes away from Springfield. It is located in Union County near Westfield and Elizabeth if you have heard of those towns. I will be attending the Springfield party so hopefully it will be fun :)

I went to B&N in Clifton today and made my reservation for Breaking Dawn. I'm still 50/50 on attending the release party but I guess we'll see how i feel after I get back from Comic Con in San Diego.

I'll try to give the store a call before I leave for California to see if they have any details on the party. So far, all I saw there were several posters and signs, not much at all. I'll also find out how the book reservation thing works in terms of pick ups and times, etc.

So since the Lexicon is closing shop for a while starting Monday(I think?), why don't we all meet up at the alternate lex to talk more details next week?

Everyone should join the alt lex anyway!! See my siggy for link. :)
Go to the AltLex!!

the guy i spoke to just told me to call at the end of the month. im like "uh. i just want information". I may end up going to B&N in Menlo park or Freehold or just scrap that and just go to the Borders at the Freehold Mall.

If you or any other lexion members arent far from Freehold, lets all meet up there. I'll give you my number and we can txt and make arrangements.

By the way, whats the other lexicon board site ? I need to add it to my favorites incase anything happens here.

about 32 mins from Central Jersey. You have to take the Parkway to get there.

I think I just maybe comming to that party instead.

Edit: okay this is the information that I got:

ok so i called B&N in Holmdel and they're throwing a party but its going to be small and theres no theme. The night crew thats working that night are going to be split into 2 teams..Wearwolf and Vampire.
the cafe in the bookstore is going to try to do the drinks and food all themed and they're going to be giving stuff away and having temp. tattoos and vampire teeth. so its not going to be alot there. And the girl that was on the planning committee, is going to be in NYC at the Stephanie Meyer concert that night...i envy her.

B&N in EB: no friggen clue what im talking about. I'll call at the end of July to see whats going on.

Menlo: gave me the number of this lady that does the release parties. I havent spoken to her yet.

Freehold: no party. Dont' even bother going there.

Springfeild: HUGE PARTY! refer to the NJ Party thread.

Borders in the Woodbridge Mall is having a get together August 2nd and they'll have the Twilight Calender for sale that day. No huge party.

Borders in Freehold: there will be a party. the theme is Breaking Dawn the lady said..she was old so I think she had no clue what the The f word! Esme would be disappointed i was talking about. She said it was going to be August 2nd but someone else told me August 1st. I'll call back closer to the party date.

Borders in Eatentown: kind of similar to the harry potter parties. Theres going to be a costume contest (they dont know the theme right now) and some other stuff. It's going to be on July 31st.

Well at least I am not alone in having sucky stores in my area. After getting disgusted with my Barnes and Noble for getting ignorant with me about the party (the woman told me "it's hardly been planned and won't be for a while." WTH it's only 19 days away now!) I gave up on B&N all together.

So then I call the Borders in Mays Landing and they guy is really excited about the book and the party but the party is from midnight to 3am. I'm thinking if I get my book at midnight, I want to go home and read it, not have the party after while its in my hands.

So I'm not sure if I will be going to a party or where I'll go if I do go. :?

It seems like no one really cares about this.
