I really thought he was going to be a jerk like Kyle.
But the farther I got in the book the more he seemed like a completely different person.
Ian is definitly one of my favorite characters.

Though...Kyle did soften up with Sunny/Jodi so Kyle and Ian are actually really like each other, its just Ian got there a lot quicker than Kyle did.

he is my favourite character!
He is just so sweet to wanda, and I just began to love him!
He and Kyle are so completely different! I thought at first he would be like him, but thankfully not

I totally agree with you he was so sexy, and caring yet manly at the same time, it was turning me into mush everytime he did something, i was like wow you are so perfect! marry me now. i love how deeply he loved wanda and how badly he felt for ever gurting her.... he is the equivalent of edward to me, maybe better, i love him so much. I absolutely love Ian, because he wasnt meant to love Wanderer. According to humans beliefs, he was not allowed to love Wanda, yet he did. He even went against his own flesh and blood just to protect her. His love for her is amazing. Truthfully, I love Ian more than Edward.
I guess its because Ian is human, so he seems more realistic. He has flaws and is therefore more real. I love, love, love Ian. He is perfect!!

"Bella, I promise to love you forever- every single day of forever, will you marry me?"
I just finished reading the Host today and I love Ian. I had to come online and find threads about The Host so I could talk about him
He's so kind and really tries to be a good person. I think the thing I loved most about him was that he loved Wanda and knew that he loved her regardless of what body she was in. I think I knew I'd like him as soon as said he felt guilty for hitting her, aaww.

It never says in the book how old Ian is, but in an interview with SM she says that Ian is 25. Kyle is 30 if you were wondering that too.
Hmm....does that mean he is 26 at the end of the book? Wanda was with them for nearly a year, plus the several weeks to a few months in took to get her into Pet's body...26...yum!

thanks...hmmm...i knew he'd be in his 20s...it seems funny to me because you think...well...Ian's 25 and Pet's body is only 18...but...Wanda herself is probably a thousand years old...who's actually the older person in this relationship?!

Haha! There could be a whole debate on this topic be itself! Hmm...I think it depends on how you look at it. The part when Wanda first tells everyone that she is thousands of years old they're all like But then she says to Jamie, "In a very real way I'm younger than you, not even a year old." Maybe I shouldn't have used quoets...thats the jist of it at least.
So, if you want to go by who has actually lived the longest and had the most life experience, its Wanda obviously. But since she plans on staying on Earth (and my guess is that she plans on dying in her new body), Ian has more human years on her and therefore is the older one in the relationship, in that way.
