This is an interesting relationship that we've not really seen from Stephenie so far. How did you feel about Jamie and the way his relationship worked with both Mel and Wanda?

Jamie consistantly broke my heart.

To be so trusting, and forgiving, and to be the only one to really treat melanda- as two distinct individuals...in a way, he was really the best of all of them. :D

The fact that Mel kept wanderer out of her memories about Jamie for so long (until his birthday...heartbreaking!) was just...wow.

The way these relationships were written was motherhood wrapped up into a beautiful bow. I was floored. :D

Jamie reminded me of a puppy (sorry for the reference) So trusting and willing to love. He accepted Wanda for who she was and was one of the only ones to treat her with kindness through out the whole book.

I also agree with Marcy by saying he treated them as two distinct individuals, not wanting to hurt either one.

Jamie had to be one of my favourite characters after Wanda and Ian.

I think Jamie was sort of a symbol for everything good in the world. Even though he was a teenager when Wanda and Mel showed up, he was still so...I can't even think of a word. Pure, innocent, maybe? Untainted by the hate or anger of those around him, but at the same time not naive. He obviously knew about the souls and the invasion, he knew that his race was more or less wiped out by "monsters," and yet when he Wanda in Melanie's body, he didn't hate her. Maybe it was because she was in Mel's body, but he treated her like an individual. He didn't run away from her, he didn't want to kill her; he treated her like any other person. Despite being the youngest in the group of survivors, he probably handled the situation with the most maturity.

Jamie's possibly my favorite character in the book, but I can't decide between him and Ian XD

Couldn't have said it better myself! It was wonderful to see that Stephenie (who writes amazing romances, as well all know!) could write about such a different kind of love and still make it so powerful and real!

I really like Jamie a lot... he tried so hard to be brave, strong, and mature, but he still had that child-like innocence about him... and he was so loving and accepting of Wanda, right from the start.

Jamie's crying scene with Wanda was the first scene that made me cry. He reminded me vaguely of my own little brother, and I really felt what Melanie must have been feeling, being without him for so long. And he's just a sweetheart. I love how he was the first to really love Wanda... Like she was another sister of his.
I'd like to say that my username is sarcastic, but that would be a mild lie. Mild, but a lie.

Jamie is beautiful. That's the best and only way I can describe him. It broke my heart to see him in pain, and upset. He was such a little trooper,he NEVER gave up believing. He was just a child, and I think that's what made it even sadder. I felt for him more than any other characters in the book.

Jamie was awesome
he was the first person (besides jeb, but hes kind of crazy) who talked to wanda and treated her as a person
he was so forgiving and loving
and for those chapters when i wasnt sure if he was going to make it
i CRIED like a baby
then i ran around the house when he made it!!!

he was brave and strong, but shild like too
he was really real to me, like he would actually exist
if only...

He's such a real character, I simply adore him.

I just want to hug him.

He was so sweet, and understanding, he really got it, childs innocence maybe.

And I lost it when I thought we were going to lose him, too

Jamie just constantly amazed me. I fell in love with him as soon as he met Wanda. He was so accepting, and he wasn't afraid to cry! That's the thing that did it for me. He didn't get all cold and bitter like Jared.
