"You don't have a soul. You are a soul. You have a body."
— C.S. Lewis
Just thought that this quote was interesting... Relates to the Host in a strange way.
It doesn't need a topic, but since I didn't know where to post it, it ended up here.

Question
I would love to see a discussion on the poem "Question" at the beginning of the book and how it relates to the The Host.

I second that.Nicholai wrote:I think a topic on the parallels between The Host world and our own is in order. Souls are a somewhat accepted theory in our society, so to what depth do they actually go? Is this really science fiction?
Actually, I think a thread just based on all the different metaphors would be good.
Also, what about Racism? The way that Kyle regards Wanda as garbage and would rather murder her than suffer living under the same roof (or tunnel) with her, can be ralated to things that have happened in our history...
I think its also interesting how, majorly, neither side understands each other and can't even contemplate how their own ideas might be wrong. There are select few, very few, who see it from both sides and make their decisions thus. But why so few? How are their ideas so different?
There's some juicy discussion material here...
