Ian and Wanda

Ian and Wanda are my second fave couple ever

(Just behind Mimi and Roger from RENT)

I just love how Ian wanted Wanda dead, but then he fell for her. I thought that was kind of romantic. If it was just that Ian didn't like wanda, they'd kind of sort of remind me of Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy.

Speaking of resemblances, if anyone has read the Twilight series, didn't you find that Jared, Wanda and Ian kind of reminded you of Edward, Bella and Jake? (Don't get me wrong, I still adored The Host, it was amazing!)

Maybe I just saw that because I was wondering if it would be similar at all before I read The Host.

Same here guys. I would get so excited when Wanda and Ian were even in the same room, let alone talking to each other.

It's kind of funny when Ian, Wanda and Jared are at a hotel and Wanda is explaining why the souls don't run human T.V. shows anymore. Wanda says Ian laughs at all the wrong parts, the parts that were suppose to be touching. Ah, just another lovable flaw of Ian, laughing at the wrong parts in a T.V. show.

I suppose thats the difference between Edward and Ian...Ian is human - he has flaws...Thats what makes him cute...I'm really starting to like Ian more than Edward

Yay! Another person who might love Ian more than Edward. I'm still considering too, I'm rereading the Twilight series right now so I guess I'll know for sure if I loved Ian more after Breaking Dawn. But right now I do love Ian more.

And I love Ian's flaws! Your right that is another example on how Ian and Edward differ. I love how when Ian is really asleep he sprawls out in all directions, it's so silly, so Ian... And very un-Edwardlike. (Did I just make up a word? I haven't seen anyone use that one before...)

nice...un-Edwardlike lol! but yes, same here, i guess I'll know for sure after Breaking Dawn, though, I'm still leaning very much towards Ian...

hmmm thats interesting, I didn't see it before, but now I get what you mean...I suppose they did love the same "person"...just different "parts" of said person...Ian loved Wanda the Soul whereas Jared loved Melanie the Host

I love, love, love the Ian/Wanda realationship. Sure the whole Jared?Melanie thing was cute...at times. But Ian loved Wanda even though he was taught to hate her kind. His intentions in the beginning were to kill her, but then he falls for her. It was so sweet.

I first fell in love with Ian when he said to Jared "I dont know, man. I fet guily- guilty as hell." I squealed when he said this, at the time he was a minor character but i fell in love with him. And I know Jared was supposed to be "the love" for wanda and Melanie, but in the beginning of the book, when I didnt know how it was supposed to end i though ' I know Jared is supposed to be the guy but i'm starting to like ian a lot more.'

In fact, before Jared punched Kyle in the hospital, i hated him completely because was so ignorant and rude towards Wanderer.

But Ian went against nature basically and fell in love with Wanda. I loved when he said he didnt lover her body but the things Wanda did w/ it, he didnt love her face, but the expressions Wanda made w/ it, he didnt love her mouth, but what Wanda said with it. That was so incredibly cute.

But all time fave was " I held you in my hand, Wanderer. And you were so beautiful." That was the absolute most wonderful thing that i thought Ian said the entire time.

Either way, I LOVE IAN!!!!! (even more than Edward!) dont beat me for it but i really do like Ian more than Edward.

Also being human, Ian is more realistic to me. You could actually find an "Ian" out in the world. I love it!

Yes, I agree with you completely...and I don't think many people will beat you for it...there are a lot more people out there than expected who are starting to or already love Ian more than Edward...Poor Edward...I think the main reason is that, like you said, Ian is human...he has flaws that Edward doesn't have...I've said this before but I just really really love Ian...He's so sweet and Human if that makes sense...

i know......i love edward, i really do. but dont get me wrong, you have got to love Ian. He is so sweet. And yes,he does make mistakes, but everyone does, it just makes him more real!
Also, when he defended Wanda over his own brother, that was strong. He has a blood connection to Kyle and therefore is bound to love him. But that he chose Wanda over him, Wanda, who he wasnt supposed to love who by nature was supposed to hate, was incredibly incredibly romantic. I mean he took it a little far but i still love that his relationship with Wanda is stronger than towards his own brother. Its so sweet.

i know......i love edward, i really do. but dont get me wrong, you have got to love Ian. He is so sweet. And yes,he does make mistakes, but everyone does, it just makes him more real!

He was born to love his own brother yet, Wanda, someone who invaded the Earth, he was able to fall in love with and defend her and love her and also choose her over his own brother. They were bound together at birth, but, he still chose Wanda. That is incredibly romantic and it probably really means a lot to him, Wanda and even everybody else in that small community, no, everybody who has or hasn't read the book - It shows that when you truly love someone, you'll do absolutely anything to protect them and to love them with all your heart, no matter what gets in the way.

Exactly, Ian was practically demoralized for loving Wanda. He didnt have to , he wasnt supposed to. In fact, in the human community, it was wrong to love a soul, and yet he did.
His love for her had no bounds, he went to extreme lenghts for her. He sacrificed his well-being to be with her.

The love that Ian had for Wanderer is so unfathomable that it is practically earth-shattering (cheesy, i know, but its so true). It holds a special meaning to anyone that has and that will read The Host.

All-in-All, i absolutely love Ian/Wanda, more than almost any other couple in history....

I love Ian and Wanda. I like this couple much more than Jared and Melanie
I loved it when it said that he didn't go with the others to find her a new body as he didn't care what she looked like, and that he held her in his hand and said she was beautiful.
They are one of my favourite book couples

i'm not really a fan of the Ian Wanda relationship he seemed obnoxious and annoying to me and the relationship seemed really forced especially on her part it's like "oh he likes me, well i'll like him back" i like the melanie and jared relationship so much better
