Bloodlust, just spend some time on here & you will love Jared!

Ok, I thought of this amazing tag line.

Bloodlust I am with you in the fear department, because...well...for the vast majority of the book I couldn't stand Jared.

Whew! There I said it.

In the beginning I was falling for Jared. I totally enjoyed the memories Mel shared of him, and could understand why Wanda fell in love with him too.

But then when I met him in the cave...oh man...he was mean. I'm not saying he didn't have his reasons, but there was only so much pain I could tolerate being dulled out on poor Wanda. Then to find out he was the culprit for more souls being brought to the cave after Wanda's arrival just made me sick.

By the end I did start liking Jared again. I liked the way he fought for Wanda at the tribunal (even though he had something to gain). I especially liked him for making Doc not honor Wanda's demand, because he himself had nothing to gain from it.

That's really good BC13. VERY creative. Actually I REALLY like it. A lot.

Ian & Mel? Do you mean Ian & Wanda? Ian & Mel werent really close. But I could come up with one if you wanted. Im going to think of one for Ian & Wanderer anyway, it just wont be in my sig.

First off, I'm going to say that I loved both Jared and Ian equally! Yet, if I'm being honest here, there were times where I liked Jared more. I guess I liked him more because I could relate to and understand his reactions and emotions. Like many others have stated before me: how would you react when you saw the person you loved, standing before you, taken away by the one thing you hated most in the world? Yes, hitting Wanda was a bit harsh and jumping to conclusions, but Jared was overwhelmed and that was before he took the time to get to know Wanda. Which leads to my next point: would you honestly be all enduring and heartfelt towards someone who took the one person you loved away from you? I know I wouldn't. And I also know it would take me awhile to warm up to that person if I did get to know them. Just like it did for Jared. I also took the relationship between Jared and Wanda as each of them being something that they wanted, but couldn't have. Wanda was everything Melanie was, physically, so therefore so obviously reminded Jared of her. But as long as Wanda continued to control her body and mind (for the most part), Jared couldn't have her. Jared was the same for Wanda. As long as Melanie was apart of her and in her mind, she would always feel guilty for wanting and loving Jared as much as Melanie did. To me, Jared was just so realistic to every situation he was in. In my opinion, he was the most human of all the characters. Plus, when he actually did do things that were likable, that made me fall for him even more! But of course, I did love me some Ian, too!

Nobody hates Jared we just don't like him as much as we like Ian. Of course Wanda was somehow between Jared and Melanie and that wasn't fair. But Melanie was also in between Wanda and Ian. so I guess they are even.
