Jared and Melanie

At first I thought it was so cute that he wanted to help her once he realized she was human and vise versa. But when Jared said "you're seventeen, Melanie. And I'm twenty-six." that kind of weirded me out. I really like Mel and Jared together though but it's hard having most of the story from Wanda's view to see their relationship since Wanderer is on the outside looking in--if that makes sense-- I want Wanda to be her own person and give Mel he body yet. (I'm on page 445 so I don't know what's going to happen yet) But I really hope it has a happy ending for everyone.

but not so weird considering their circumstances as the last few humans on planet Earth... procreating wouldn't seem like such a bad idea, I think... But anyway... yeah, I loved the way the Host ended. don't worry, I won't give anything away!

I loved the way they found true love in such unexpected cirumstances - the end of the human world.

Personally, I love Ian and Wanda together, and they are my "favourite" couple, but Melanie and Jared are wonderful, as well. Especially when Jared, at some point in the book says something about Melanie always being his, and then Melanie says "always" (I'm completely paraphrasing). I think that even though they can't really communicate, they still love each other so deeply. I agree it was a little weird when Jared pointed out the age difference, but I got over it soon. When there are so few humans left, the fact that they found love at all is amazing, so forget the age difference.

I thought Jared and Melanie were really cute together, and that they loved each other very much. But I never really did trust Jared. I guess that's just because we saw everything from Wanda's viepoint. But I never did trust him. He seemed very violent and I dunno...scary? I guess I was just so used to Edward and his perfection that Jared took me by surprise. Jared really reminded me of Jacob Black when he's older. And I love the name Jared!

^^ I totally trusted Jared. Being violent and scary isn't necessarily synonymous with untrustworthy. I think that fact that he was a bit violent in the beginning was an example of how loyal he can be.

You have to imagine what it would be like to have your girlfriend's body show up with Wanderer inside. He was extremely worried that Wanderer was going to threaten everyone's safety, not to mention the fact that he believed that Melanie was gone because of Wanderer.

i like jared and melanie. i think jared is a jerk though. i don't know if they would have ended up together under different circumstances.

I mean, yeah, his gf showed up with someone else in her and I would be kind of freaked out, too, if I were a guy in love.

but he still has a warm side that is reserved for melanie, and that is sweet
I would be hardened if I were in his situation too, so I have to give him his props!
